portuguese tiles have a rich history, dating back to the 13th century, influenced by moorish designs introduced during the islamic occupation. you can not walk down a street in portugal without seeing a towering wall adorned with blue and white tile. in the summer of 2024 over the course of 4 days i set out to catalog as many unique designs as i could - all within the city center of aveiro.
